Location
Marton Grange is
located on the outskirts of Bridlington on the B1255 which links
the town with the village of Flamborough. Approaching
Bridlington follow signs for Flamborough (B1255). The house is
located in the small hamlet of Marton which is on the outskirts
of Sewerby on the Flamborough Road. To obtain directions to us

The house can be found on the left hand side and is approached
via a lay-by and is near some holiday cottages. It sits high off
the road and there is a sign for “Marton Grange” on the grass
verge. If you pass the Bridlington Links Golf course or “Danes
Dyke” you have gone a few yards too far and need to turn back.
Marton Grange is ideally located to explore the local
countryside and we are the nearest guest accommodation to the
RSPB Bird Reserve at Bempton. The Yorkshire Wolds are one of
England’s hidden jewels, with wonderful rolling hills and deep
dry valleys. David Hockney the internationally famous artist
often works in the The Wolds and his last major exhibition was
of scenes painted in our locality. His series of pictures
entitled “Bigger Trees near Warter” can be seen in the Tate and
was painted near Warter just a few miles from us.
Further afield from Marton Grange are the North York Moors,
Scarborough, Whitby, York, Pickering, Beverley and Hull. There
is a diverse range of attractions from the Elizabethan stately
homes at Burton Agnes and Burton Constable, Sledmere House and
gardens, the historic city of York with its Minster and Medieval
walls, Beverley with its amazing Minster (possibly
better than York) and Hull with its shopping centres, The Deep
and museums and art galleries.
